Ruby wins the UK's Market Research Society and Association for Survey Computing's joint Technology Effectiveness award for the best new technology in 2008.

This prestigious annual award, first presented in 2003, is for outstanding innovation in the application of software or technology for market, opinion and social research which has directly achieved a demonstrable improvement in the effectiveness of actual research delivered.

What the judges said:

  • "Ruby's integrated approach to merging data, simplifying the communication of complex analysis specifications, delivering interactive results to the client's desktop and the ability to automate all of these through a single scripting language should significantly reduce errors and turnaround time whilst decreasing cost."
  • "Ruby is a versatile desktop tool which dramatically helps the experienced user in the efficient preparation, integration and analysis of data from tracking surveys and projects with data from different sources... The thoughtful design of the user interface and the sophisticated underlying analysis options, allows complex requirements to be expressed in a succinct and easily maintained manner.
